Rackspace Cloud Server: End of Support for some Linux Images
Just got this message from Rackspace.com that effecive December 5, 2011, they will be stopping sale and support for some older Linux distribution images in their Rackspace Cloud hosting offerings. Hopefully, this means more recent Linux distrubutions are supported including CentOS 5.7, 6.0, 6.1.

Currently, the following Linux Distributions are available for Rackspace Cloud Servers customers to use as their Cloud Servers operating system. Keep an eye out for new Linux images coming soon!Effective December 5, 2011, Rackspace will stop the sale of the following Linux images on Cloud Servers:
LIST OF DISTRIBUTIONS
- Arch 2010.05
- CentOS 5.4
- CentOS 5.5
- Fedora 13 (Goddard)
- Oracle EL RSU4
- Oracle EL RSU3 JEOS
- RHEL 5.4
- Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick Meerkat)
- Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala)
- Ubuntu 8.04.2 LTS (Hardy Heron)
These base operating systems will be removed from The Rackspace Cloud hosting portfolio and the Control Panel on December 5, 2011. If you have an existing Linux server built from one of the above distributions, Rackspace will continue supporting the image until a notice of End of Support is communicated to you. Additionally, you will still have the ability to restore and create new custom images and build from custom images for servers that were originally built from one of the above distributions.
