MariaDB 5.5 RPM builds ?
MariaDB 5.5.23 has been announced as stable release since last month but there isn’t an official MariaDB 5.5 RPM available for download yet. Seems there’s problems that need to be ironed out with the official RPM builds for MariaDB 5.5.23. Update: seems official MariaDB 5.5 RPMs might be coming soon !
I’ve been attempting to build my own MariaDB 5.5 RPMs ever since without any success, until I stumbled upon Shawn Sterling’s MariaDB 5.5 spec file. Merging it with Joshua Butcher’s MariaDB 5.5.23 spec file, I finally managed to build my own MariaDB 5.5.23 RPMs on CentOS 6.2 64bit local test server.
I’m no RPM build expert and this is my first successful RPM build for MariaDB 5.5.23, so going to test it out. Best of all, it seems this MariaDB 5.5 RPM works with mydumper install unlike official MySQL 5.5 server which prevents mydumper from installing properly. I’m a very happy man :)
Here’s hoping official MariaDB 5.5 RPMs will be available soon.
